Four Planes in Space

Four wooden planes each cut to a distinct geometry are arranged in a tilted, stacked composition that divides space diagonally. A long narrow bar leans across two broader slabs, none of which sit flat or parallel to the ground. The sculpture fulfills the core premise of the assignment: planes, unlike solid masses, do not simply occupy space they divide it, suggest it, and frame it. Here, the relationships between the four surfaces create implied interior volumes and exterior boundaries that shift depending on the viewer's position around the work.
